Head of digital content development for Cumbrian-based CN Group, Nick Turner, has been co-opted to the board of directors of the Society of Editors.
In conjunction with the journalism department at the University of Central Journalism, Turner organises the digital editors’ network which gives managers of media websites the chance to meet and discuss their experiences.
Turner, previously deputy editor for the group’s News & Star and Cumberland News, helped the titles win many awards, including Press Gazette’s Regional Press Award for the News & Star, when it became the first regional paper to introduce bloggers to its website.
His appointment to the board will be subject to approval by members at the society’s AGM during the annual conference in Bristol between 9-11 November.
