National newspaper website ABC figures for August 2014

Mail Online maintained its position as by far the most popular UK newspaper website in August 2014 attracting some 11.3 million browsers per day.

This compared with 5.8m global unique browsers per day for Theguardian.com and 3.6m for Telegraph.co.uk.

The fastest growing national newspaper website was Metro, up 174 per cent year on year to 1.5m unique browsers per day. It has merged its editorial team with sister title Mail Online, but retains a separate identity at the front end.
