Muffin the Mule

By Press Gazette

The official Muffin the Mule magazine canters onto the newsstands
this month, following reports that the reborn BBC character is now top
favourite for toddlers, beating even Pingu and The Tweenies.

Published
by Bath-based Future under licence from Peak Entertainment, the title
marks the company’s entry into the pre-school sector.

The
magazine will be published every three weeks, aimed at two to
five-year-old fans of the cartoon, which is showing four times a day on
BBC Two and CBeebies.

Editor Cavan Scott said the magazine would “promote traditional values” while taking an “educational yet fun”

approach to problem solving, puzzles and other activities.

Muffin
the Mule joins Future’s Jetix Magazine in its stable of children’s
titles. Publisher Mike Lamond said further children’s launches would
follow in 2006.
