Model Kate Moss has launched a legal battle for libel damages over a story in the Daily Star.
She insists that the story, headed “Kate: Brit’s Off”, was defamatory and claimed she had made ridiculous financial demands to perform a duet with David Bowie at the Brit Awards, only to pull out when her demands were not met.
The story, which appeared on 8 February, also branded her greedy, avaricious and highly unprofessional, according to a High Court writ.
She is also seeking aggravated damages from the publishers and an injunction banning the repetition of the allegations about her.
