David Mortimer, deputy controller of the BBC’s general factual programmes, has taken up a new post in the BBC’s entertainment department. Mortimer, who was executive producer on Louis Theroux’s BBC2 series, has been made head of factual entertainment. He was responsible for commissioning documentaries such as Carman QC and Crackhouse. He will oversee a team responsible for programmes such as Before They Were Famous and Celebdaq.
