A second series of Morgan and Platell, Channel 4’s political chat show hosted by Piers Morgan and Amanda Platell, will start early in the new year.
Despite being slated by critics, the programme drew an average of 600,000 viewers – a 3 per cent share of the audience early on Saturday evening.
The audience peaked at 850,000 in the fourth edition of the last series when Peter Hain, MP, Leader of the House of Commons, was interviewed on the show.
Commissioning editor Mark Rubens said: “Morgan and Platell brings a provocative and lively note to Channel 4’s Saturday current affairs slot, and the distinctive format provides the time and opportunity to discuss political issues in depth.”
