More regional accents needed on BBC

BBC director general Mark Thomson told Telegraph readers in an online Q & A that more regional accents were needed in the Corporation to counter the suggestion that it was too London-centric.

He also said he was “not convinced” that news Anchor Huw Edwards should have been sent to Portugal as part of the reporting of the Madeleine McCann disappearance.
