Monkey swings ahead of rivals

By Press Gazette

Dennis’s interactive online lads’ mag, Monkey, has now overtaken Nuts and Zoo in the men’s market and attracted a monthly audience almost three times the size of the sector’s biggest paid-for printed title, FHM. In its latest ABCe release, for January 2008, Monkey posted its highest traffic figures since the title launched in November 2006.

According to ABCe figures, Monkey attracted an average of 271,667 weekly unique users in January. This figure is, for the first time, higher than the circulation of Nuts (270,053) and some distance ahead of Zoo (179,006).

Monkeymag.co.uk recorded 942,184 monthly unique users in January versus FHM’s average monthly sale of 315,000. FHM.com is still way ahead though, with a recorded 1,785,033 monthly unique users in January 2008.
