Sir Christopher Meyer is to give the opening lecture at the Society of Editors’ annual conference in London in October.
The chairman of the Press Complaints Commission will give his lecture at St Bride’s Church in Fleet Street on Sunday, 12 October. It will be followed by a reception at the St Bride’s Institute, home of the London Press Club.
The conference will be based at Le Meridien Russell Hotel in Russell Square, and will go under the theme of whether the press are “Heroes or Villains”.
The annual gala dinner will be held at the Imperial War Museum on Monday, 13 October. Daily Mirror
editor Piers Morgan will be speaking at a breakfast seminar on Tuesday,
14 October.
