Ms and 9 to 5 , recruitment magazines aimed at young London women looking for secretarial jobs, will face competition from a new Metromagazine in January.
The Associated title plans a 50,000 print run for the magazine every Monday to target women between 20 and 35. The magazine will, like Metro , be given away free to commuters.
A spokesman said that as well as job advertisements the new spin-off will have “great editorial”. The in-house editorial team will produce the magazine, as yet to be named.
Metro managing director Steve Auckland believes there is a gap in the market for a quality recruitment title.
