The publisher of French Magazine, Merricks Media, is planning to launch three titles, writes Ruth Addicott. The plans follow the appointment of Simon Stansfield – previously with Future and Dennis – as publisher to free up managing director Lisa Doerr to focus on launches.
Sources say the first new title – a bimonthly – is scheduled for launch in November. It is expected to target a similar readership to French Magazine but with a bias on a neighbouring European country.
The other titles are expected to launch in the first quarter of next year – one in the travel sector and the other in a different market. Bath-based Merricks Media is currently recruiting journalists, although a full team is already in place for the first launch. Stansfield said there were plans to double the size of the company.
