Magazine publishers will join regional newspapers in having the option to publish official web figures alongside their six-monthly print circulation figures, the Audit Bureau of Circulations said today.
From January 2009, ABC will allow magazine publishers to hold certificates that will detail monthly and daily unique users for a six month period, with additional information available at the publisher’s request.
The certificate will also contain charts providing a visual represenation of the title’s online activity.
Publishers still have the option to also use the existing method of individual monthly audits with ABCe.
ABC director of magazines Jan Pitt said: ‘The new reporting standards for six monthly reporting of web sites ensure ABC and ABCe continue to meet the changing needs of publishers, enabling them to demonstrate to advertisers and media buyers their cross platform performance.”
