Gardeners’ World magazine has promoted its deputy editor Lucy Hall to the editorship of the title.
Hall, who has been deputy editor for the past 10 years and is a former editor of Classic FM magazine, replaces founding editor Adam Pasco, who has stepped down after 22 years in the job.
One of her responsibilities will be to expand the title’s digital presence.
Immediate Media – the new company formed through the merger of BBC Magazines, Origin Publishing and Magicalia – publishes Gardeners’ World under licence from BBC Worldwide.
The managing director of Immediate’s London specialist division, Steven Seaton, said: “Lucy’s passion for gardening and journalism – and her track record of success – means the UK’s leading gardening title is in great hands.”
Pasco will continue to work for the title as editor-at-large. David Hurrion is promoted to deputy editor and writer Ross Bayton becomes gardening editor.
Gardeners’ World had an audited circulation of 216,620 in the second half of 2011, according to the Audit Bureau of Circulations.
