Leona Lewis PCC complaint leads to Look apology

Weekly fashion and celebrity magazine Look has apologised to Leona Lewis after the former X Factor winner complained to the Press Complaints Commission over an article about her state of mind.

Lewis told the PCC that the article published on 14 September by the IPC Media magazine contained a number of inaccuracies.

Her complaint was resolved when the magazine published an apology to the singer retracting its claims.

The apology stated: “Further to our article on Leona Lewis (14th September), we have been asked to make clear that our description of Leona’s state of mind, suggesting that she was battling inner demons and was in therapy, was incorrect.

“She is confident about her career and her new album, and has not been making “emotional calls” to her mum, as we reported.

“We acknowledge that she is supportive of other X Factor acts, especially JLS and Alexandra Burke, who she rates highly. We apologise to Leona for the errors.”

IPC Media declined to comment.
