The Times Online is to launch an electronic paper edition on 28 May. On screen, the e-paper will have the exact look and layout of the printed version. It will contain the final edition of The Times, including supplements, and will be available from 5am GMT at the latest – late evening in New York, lunchtime in the Far East and late afternoon in Australia.
Users can browse the contents and click on the articles or advertisements they wish to read and enlarge them. The e-paper will go initially only to the overseas market as currently ABC does not accept e-paper editions as part of the audited circulation.
The e-paper will be offered as a part of the package to current subscribers, who currently pay £39.99 to access Times Online. An introductory offer will allow new users to sign up for £49.99 for the next year; thereafter it will cost £75 per annum.
