GMTV has instigated a number of on and off-air editorial staff changes that include news correspondent Cordelia Kretzschmar being appointed its New York Correspondent.
Kretzschmar, 30, joined the station in March 2003 just in time to cover the Iraqi war from the UK Military Armoured Division HQ Forward Transmission Unit in Kuwait.
A former BBC London reporter, she will take up her new post in November, joined by news editor, Katie Myler currently working for GMTV in London.
Kretzschmar is replacing Rachel Harrison, who will return to the UK as one of GMTV’s news correspondents.
The current New York news editor and producer Siobhan O’Gorman is returning to her native Ireland as a series editor for TV broadcaster RTE.
Also, Caroline Sigley, a news producer on the channel’s input team, has been promoted to head of daily planning. News editor Mat Mackay, has been elevated to the role of senior producer.
Former correspondent Lucy Van Den Brul has now been appointed as a news editor as she returns to full-time work following the birth of her child.
And Andy Hayes, a freelance at GMTV for the past two years, has joined the staff as a news editor.
The moves come a week before GMTV presenter Eamonn Holmes begins his Saturday morning sport and current affairs programme on BBC Five Live
