Kerrang! seeks editor as Bird stretches wings Kerrang!

By Press Gazette

Kerrang! magazine is looking for a new editor following the announcement that Ashley Bird is departing from the post.

Bird will leave in April to pursue other interests, including DJ-ing, although he plans to continue writing for the mag.

Bird has been editor of the rock weekly for two and half years. He started off doing work experience there in the mid-Nineties.

He
said: “I love this magazine, and the people that work on it, to bits
and still hope to be a part of its extended family as a writer and DJ.

“I’ve
achieved what I set out to do as editor -leading it out of the tail end
of the nu-metal years and setting it up for a bright new future – and I
have my own personal challenges that I wish to take on.

“The
magazine is in great shape, with big plans and a super-talented
editorial team and I’m really excited to see what the next editor can
bring to the party.”
