Scottish Daily Mail editor Tim Jotischky is heading back to London after a two-year stint in Glasgow.
Jotischky will now be responsible for special projects at the Daily Mail.
His deputy, Andy Harries, will be acting editor in Glasgow until a new editor is appointed.
Insiders reckon the new editor will be a London appointment but any final decision will have to wait until editor-in-chief Paul Dacre returns to the office after heart surgery.
Jotischky, who has described his spell in Scotland as the “best job he’s ever done”, has consolidated the Scottish Daily Mail’s position as Scotland’s third-largest selling daily newspaper.
