- Job Title: Press Officer
- Salary: £29,790 to £37,061
- Location: London
How do you prevent drugs getting into prisons? Who should be entitled to Legal Aid and how do you rehabilitate prisoners? These are the sorts of issues you’ll be grappling with and having to communicate as a Press Officer in the Ministry of Justice (MoJ).
Our press office is looking for a number of dynamic, talented and hard-working press officers for roles across our busy office. You will be joining a busy, friendly team that is highly-valued by the Secretary of State for shaping stories and influencing our news in print, broadcast and online. We expect you will be someone who thrives on pressure and enjoys creating headlines as much as fire-fighting bad news.
Our department and Ministers are never far from the headlines and we have a busy policy agenda. This includes reforming prisons, probation and youth justice to improve public safety and reduce re-offending; undertaking the biggest programme of courts reform anywhere in the world to renew public confidence in the justice system and better protect the vulnerable; and modernising the human rights framework and upholding the rule of law.
