As soldiers again fired shots at anti-government demonstrators in Rangoon the BBC is reporting Japanese news agency Kyodo’s claims that a Japanese photographer is among the dead. The Telegraph has pictures apparently showing the moment when the man was shot. Reporters Without Borders has expressed anger at the killing, which is reported here and in the Bangkok Post here, which also claims that a German photographer was also killed.
Reuters also reports that two Japanese reporters were expelled from Yangon on Wednesday after the foreign media were accused on Thursday of publishing a “skyful of lies” about the crackdown on anti-junta protests by the country’s generals.
