ITV News has appointed Richard Edgar as its new economics editor.
Edgar, who was previously global editor of FT‘s video service, takes over from Daisy McAndrew, who moves to ITV News at Ten as a special correspondent.
He will lead all economics coverage for ITV News when he joins in October, working alongside ITV News business editor Laura Kuenssberg, who joins from the BBC in September.
Before joining the FT, where he became the first head of video for FT.com, Edgar was Reuters Video’s editor for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
ITV News deputy editor Jonathan Munro said the arrival of Edgar and Kuenssberg completed ‘an impressive line up in the ITV News business unit.”
‘This is an exciting time to be on the economics brief as it dominates the agenda and impacts on viewers’ lives like never before,’said Edgar.
