Is Sports Illustrated Apple Tablet edition the digital future for magazines?

Could this be the future of magazine publishing?

It’s US magazine Sports Illustrated’s demonsration of how its magazine might look in a special version created for the as yet unlaunched Apple Tablet.

The touch sceen version would allow readers to circle content, share it quickly via social networking sites and activate videos and interactive content.

According to the FT, all respondents in focus groups said they were willing to pay for the new product.
