IRN has appointed Simon Cadman to the newly created post of deputy editor.
Cadman moves from his role of news editor.
Working
alongside IRN editor Jon Godel, Cadman will supervise the news team’s
output and respond to the needs of IRN’s network of stations.
Cadman’s
promotion follows the announcement that Godel will broaden his
responsibilities to include the role of editor of ITN Multimedia,
helping to oversee the editorial output of ITN’s radio, online and
mobile video businesses.
Godel said: “Simon’s editorial
experience and leadership is a huge asset to the IRN operation and this
new position recognises the impact he has had on the continued success
of IRN.”
Cadman joined IRN in 1994 and was appointed news editor in 1999.
Previously he worked as a radio journalist for both the BBC and commercial radio.
“Listening to the needs of stations using IRN and adapting our service is a top priority,” he said.
