IPC names new editorial development director

By Press Gazette

IPC has made Andy Cowles its editorial development director.

Currently IPC creative director, Cowles' main task will be developing new magazine and online concepts, plus the reinvigoration of existing IPC titles. He will also work with IPC's learning and development department.

Cowles joined IPC in 2004, working on the launch of Pick Me Up and TV Easy. He also helped redevelop TVTimes and Woman.

He has been art director on titles such as Q, Mojo and Empire, ran his own consultancy from 1993 to 1999 and was creative director in the US on Conde Nast's Mademoiselle and art director on Rolling Stone.

Former IPC group editorial director Mike Soutar left the company last June to set up his own editorial development agency, Crash Test Media.
