IPC Connect has named Simon Denny as publisher of Chat and Pick Me Up.
He will take day-to-day publishing responsibility for the two real-life weeklies, reporting to publishing director Sandy Gale.
Denny
joined IPC from Kingston University in 1996, gaining experience in
circulation roles across IPC’s women’s weeklies and TV listings titles.
After
a period as publishing manager at Haymarket, Simon returned to IPC’s
sales marketing and distribution division Marketforce as deputy
circulation manager for IPC SouthBank’s home interest portfolio.
He
was then seconded as acting business manager for In Style, Woman &
Home, Essentials and Family Circle, before returning to Marketforce to
take up his current role as circulation manager for SouthBank.
Gale
said: “Simon has immense experience in circulation – crucial for this
market – and he has held a publishing role across a range of markets,
gaining valuable and varied insights.”
Denny added: “Having loved
the last four years working with everyone at SouthBank and helping
build a firstclass circulation team at Marketforce, the opportunity to
work on two of the UK’s biggest consumer weeklies was too good to turn
down.
“It’s a great opportunity for me to build on my previous
experiences and realise an ambition of working as a publisher within
the weeklies market.”
Denny takes up his new position on 31 October.
