iPad sales suggest it will be a game-changer for publishing

By Dominic wireposts

Apple has already sold more than two million iPad touch screen tablet style computers, suggesting that it could well turn out to be a game-changing piece of technology for publishers.

Read the Times report on this here published on Times Online which, for now at least, is continuing to publish Times content in parallel with the new soon-to-be subscriber-only Times website.

It is probably no coincidence that the launch of paywalled websites for The Times and Sunday Times coincided with the launch of the iPad in the UK on Friday. Their clutter-free online page designs will certainly work well on such a device.

The new Times and Sunday Times websites also offer digital facsimile versions of the newspaper. And as I found when trying out the Daily Express iPad ap, the device is a fantastic way to browse the printed page.
