How to pitch to: Marketing magazine

Pitch to: In the first instance, get in touch with me, Richard Abbott, deputy editor (richard.abbott@haymarket.com) or Nicola Clark, features editor (nicola.clark@haymarket.com).

Type of articles: We commission freelance writers for features, sector insights, special reports and analysis.

Topics: Our core subject – as you may have guessed from the title – is marketing. But this also covers other disciplines, including branding, media, advertising, market research, retail and digital.

How to pitch: Send a concise email in the first instance to summarise your pitch. We’ll get back to you by phone or email with feedback.

Post-pitch: If we haven’t got back to you within a week, feel free to give us a call and we’ll let you know the good or bad news.

What will impress: A relevant, timely pitch that is in tune with our audience and offers something interesting and/or entertaining to our discerning audience of marketers; industry knowledge; ideas for bringing your article to life on our website brandrepublic.com.

What won’t impress: A long, rambling phone call on press day (Monday); pitches from people who are clearly unfamiliar with the magazine; anything that is not brand-focused.

Rate: £260 per 1,000 words.

Images: Yes, we always want relevant images for work.
