Axegrinder has always held the view that it’s not a good idea for sons and daughters to work for the same papers as their parents ‒ especially if one happens to be the big cheese, that is, the editor.
So I’m extremely pleased to report that Sophie Bower, the 20-something daughter of Evening Standard editor Veronica Wadley and writer husband Tom Bower is NOT joining the family firm.
Instead, the Oxford grad has been taken on at Spear Media to work for William Cash as an intern on his wide selection of magazines, ranging from Aspinalls, Annabel’s and Spear’s Wealth Management Survey.
