Campaigners seeking to return emergency services to Burnley General Hospital in East Lancashire are concerned about a memo sent to employees of the local NHS Trust threatening staff with disciplinary action if they speak to the press “unjustifiably”.
According to Pendle Today, the memo said: “If internal mechanisms are exhausted then staff may use the press as a last resort, however if this is entered into unjustifiably it could result in disciplinary action”.
