British Airways’ magazine Highlife is to have a change of editor. Mark Jones, above, editor for six years, is moving upstairs to concentrate on winning new business contracts. Alex Finer, editor of BA’s sister title Business Life, is to take his place as editor.
Jones currently holds a dual role at Cedar Communications as editor of Highlife and editorial director across the group, but due to expansion he has freed himself up to devote more time to new launches.
“I am trying to lose one of my business cards,” he said. “Magazine editors are becoming a lot more willing to spot that the time has come to move on and the pace of change is so quick, I wanted to move before I started to repeat myself.”
Jones took over as editor of Highlife in January 1997 from the title’s founding editor Bill Davis.
Highlife is celebrating its 30th anniversary this month and is expected to announce further editorial changes in the next few weeks.
