Newsquest is aiming to cash in on Scotland’s large public sector by launching a supplement in The Herald.
Herald Society was launched on Tuesday and, according to the Glasgow daily, it is Scotland’s first weekly newspaper section dedicated to the public sector.
The 28-page pullout covers education, health, social affairs, community development and the voluntary sector.
The Herald claims that one in five Scots are employed in the public sector (531,000) with another 107,000 in the voluntary sector.
The new section, intended to provide a platform for recruitment advertising, is backed by a £150,000 promotional campaign.
