Herald merger

By Press Gazette

The Stevenage Herald has been merged with its sister paper, The Comet.

The dominance of The Comet in the local market prompted publisher Archant to go ahead with the merger.

It has not resulted in any job losses.

Both newspapers shared the same reporters and editor, Darren Isted.

The
Stevenage Herald was launched in 1998 by Thomsons and Home Counties
Newspapers before being bought by Archant in the late 1990s.
