Hegarty to edit Irish Sunday

By Press Gazette

Noreen Hegarty, a senior editor at Dublin’s Evening Herald, has been appointed editor of Ireland’s Sunday Tribune.

Her
appointment follows a period of upheaval. The paper’s editor-in-chief
and managing director, Jim Farrelly, has resigned, while the editor,
Paddy Murray, has been on leave for health reasons.

He now becomes associate editor.

The
Tribune continues to lose money in spite of circulation gains.
Management is reported to be considering outsourcing the paper’s
commercial functions.
