William Hague filed an exclusive report for Sky and Five News this week on the humanitarian crisis in Darfur, Sudan.
The shadow foreign secretary was reporting from Abu Shouk, a displaced persons’ camp that houses 55,000 of the two million people that have fled attacks by pro-government militias.
The MP witnessed the human tragedy in Darfur and spoke to women whose husbands and children have been killed in the conflict. He learned of the violence in the camp, where women are often raped as they go out to collect firewood.
