Journalists from the Guardian will produce video blogs for Current, the television station and peer-to-peer video network founded by Al Gore.
Guardian journalists including Dave Hill, John Harris, Seth Freedman and Anna Pickard will produce videos as part of a new content affiliate programme.
Each day, Current will package a video supplied by the Guardian journalists for Current TV, which is available on Sky and Virgin Media.
A web version of the videos will also appear on Guardian Unlimited and on Current.com, which launched a UK version last month.
Guardian News & Media director of digital content Emily Bell said: ‘When we were approached by Current TV we knew that their profile and outlook was highly compatible with the Guardian.
‘We are very excited about the partnership and think it will bring our journalism to a wider audience and help us showcase our best blogging talent in a video format.”
The US online magazine, Salon.com, has also joined venture. Salon correspondents Alex Koppelman, Tracy Clark-Flory, Rebecca Traister and Farhad Manjoo will be among the contributors.
Joanna Drake Earl, president of new media for Current, said: ‘This program gives journalists and bloggers from other established content providers, such as The Guardian and Salon, an opportunity to be seen and heard within Current’s community, while we engage them in conversation with our online and TV audiences about subjects that they are covering everyday.”
