Guardian gives staff online journalism test

Jeff Jarvis has revealed how Guardian Media Group gave some of its journalists a test on online reporting tools last week.

Simon Waldman, director of digital publishing for Guardian Newspapers, devised the hour and a half test in which various execs had to:

  • Take pictures and upload them to Flickr
  • Make a video and upload it to YouTube
  • Start a wiki page and add links and a photo
  • Start a blog and embed photos and video and
  • Join a Facebook group.
