The Evening Times in Glasgow has raised £1 million in 18 months to build a state-of-the-art intensive care unit at the city’s children’s hospital.
The paper celebrated its success in a special 16-page supplement on Thursday which featured a roll of honour of everyone who had donated to the Magic Million appeal.
The appeal follows a successful campaign to save sister hospital the Queen Mother’s Maternity from closure.
In 2001/2 the Evening Times raised £1.6 million to build the West of Scotland’s first Maggie’s Centre, a free, dedicated cancer care facility
