Future will launch two
new computing- and consumer electronics-focused websites this autumn.
TechDaily and TechTested
will offer news and expert buying advice and
will have 11 full-time staff headed by editor Dean Evans and associate
editor Rob Mead-Green.
Evans and Mead-Green will report to group publisher, Stuart Anderton.
The company is currently recruiting for both technical and editorial
positions at its offices in Bath and London.
TechDaily aims to
become the UK's number one website for consumer electronics and
computing enthusiasts, planning to cover everything technology related — from the iPod and mobile phones to plasma TVs and the latest PCs.
Using Future's new custom-built content management system, Techdaily
will be able to filter and choose content to create its own unique
home page.
Sister site TechTested will offer advice before
purchase and access Future's computing and electronic product reviews —
from magazines including PC Plus, Home Cinema Choice and Total Mobile —
to compile a page of content for each product.
