The Financial Times is to expand the reach of its Asia edition by starting a print site in Australia.
The Asia edition was launched last September to add to its UK, Europe and US versions. Australia will bring the paper’s total number of print sites to 24 when it launches in the autumn.
Others include Paris, New York, Dubai and Johannesburg, and a print site was launched in Dublin last week.
John Ridding, editor and publisher of the FT’s Asia edition, said: “We are tremendously excited to be the first international newspaper to print in Australia. It is a clear vindication of our global strategy. We have always viewed Australia as an important market.”
