FT signs van Duyn and Doralt to write for Lex

By Press Gazette

The Financial Times has appointed Aline van Duyn and Peter Doralt to write for Lex, the paper’s daily backpage comment section.

Van Duyn joined Lex last month after spending the previous year as editor of Capital Markets. Before joining the FT in 2000, she worked for Reuters, most recently as financial markets editor. She replaces Charles Batchelor, who has become Capital Markets editor.

Doralt joins the FT from Financial Times Deutschland. He previously wrote for Das Kapital, the German equivalent of the Lex column. He will take up his position in October, replacing Louise Lucas, who is switching to become Asia financial commentator.

George Graham, editor of Lex, said: “Aline’s wealth of experience reporting on capital markets will contribute to our expanding coverage of debt issues.

“Peter, meanwhile, has been involved in establishing Das Kapital, Lex’s counterpart at FT Deutschland, and will add an invaluable continental European perspective to the team.”
