Deborah Hargreaves has been appointed financial editor of the Financial Times.
She replaces Jane Fuller, who has moved to a senior writing role in the comment and analysis section.
Hargreaves will have responsibility for the Companies and Markets section of the paper. She joined the FT in 1987 as a reporter in Chicago and was previously markets editor. She starts her new job on 17 May.
Editor Andrew Gowers said: “Debbie has vast experience in the UK and internationally, is hugely energetic and has shown great leadership qualities. She has refreshed our markets coverage and is now ideally placed to lead this very important part of the FT.”
