Francis Elliott heads for India in big Times editorial reshuffle

By Dominic wireposts

The Times has made a series of changes to its editorial team in the wake of widespread editorial redundancies.

No-one was available for comment this morning at The Times, but The Guardian reports today that some 40 Times staff have taken voluntary redundancy and there have been a further 20 compulsory redundancies.

The big moves (according to the Guardian report) are: Mike Smith to deputy home editor; reporter Suzy Jagger to foreign news editor; deputy political editor Francis Elliott to Delhi to become India correspondent replacing Jeremy Page; energy editor Robin Pagnamenta to become Mumbai correspondent replacing Rhys Blakely, who becomes LA correspondent; deputy travel editor Jane Knight becomes travel editor and James Bone moves from New York to Rome to be replaced by Will Pavia.

More on this story from The Guardian.
