The nights are drawing in and so it’s time for those telly-advertised partworks to make an appearance. First up this year is the ambitious Build Your Own Lancaster Bomber, from the folks at Hachette, featuring model parts made of the finest materials – plywood and polystyrene.
As ever, the first issue costs a mere 50p, but the devil lies in the detail. To finish your model, you’ll need to subscribe to the other 124 issues (yes, 124 issues) at £4.99 a time. I make that £619.26 in total – and all without the instant gratification of an Airfix kit.
Still, you’ll have finished your model just in time to perform your own, personal fly-past at the 2012 Olympics.
