For all the brews that's fit to drink

It has come to my notice that Peter Hill, editor the Daily Express, has suddenly become a little eccentric.

Fleet Street editors were once renowned for their alcohol intake ‒ but Hill, I’m told, has developed a passion for tea. And boy, has this become an obsession. “He just loves the stuff,” says my contact at Blackfriars Bridge.

“Often at lunchtime, he will nip off to Borough Market and buy some exotic blend or other. He is becoming quite an expert in China and Indian teas. He even has a special kettle that switches off just before the water boils because that’s meant to make the best cuppa.”

Then, I’m told, once he’s finished with his tea ritual, it’s back to putting Maddie on the front page.
