South Yorkshire Times photographer Anne-Marie Sanderson has been praised for capturing the events that led up to this car blaze.
The car had been dumped behind Sanderson’s home in Swinton. She said: “I couldn’t believe my eyes when in broad daylight four youths started attempting to destroy the car, culminating in setting fire to it. Like any good photographer, I got my pictures and then phoned the fire brigade.”
When police asked Sanderson for a description of the alleged perpetrators of the car fire, she downloaded her pictures of the incident.
Sanderson printed copies for the police, gave a statement and has received a letter of thanks from South Yorkshire Police for her actions.
She is currently on the photography course at Norton College, Sheffield.
Two youths are due to appear in court.
