The News of the World has appointed a new editorial director and editor for its free weekend magazine, Fabulous.
Joely Carey (above), currently deputy editor of Fabulous, has been promoted to editorial director of the magazine while Rachel Richardson (right), digital editor of the News of the World, has been appointed editor.
Richardson will replace Sally Eyden who is leaving Fabulous to join Now magazine, as revealed by Press Gazette in November.
Both appointees will start in their new roles in mid-February.
Before taking up her current News of the World digital role, Richardson was associate and then executive editor of Fabulous.
Carey joined the magazine last year from Love it! where she was acting editor.
Colin Myler, editor of the News of the World, said: “These key appointments and the new management structure reflect the success of Fabulous and its enormous value to the company.
“This is the dream team for Fabulous. Joely has the strategic vision, experience and ideas to ensure the title maximises its full editorial and commercial potential.
“Rachel will bring enormous energy, skill and creativity. Together, I’m sure they will build on Sally’s brilliant work and drive the title to even greater heights.”
