A former managing director at Time Out is claiming unfair dismissal against the company.
Lesley Gill has issued proceedings in the High Court for wrongful and unfair dismissal from the company after she was sacked in December last year. She also took her claim to the Employment Tribunal last Monday.
Gill was dismissed on 15 December on grounds of irreconcilable differences with the Time Out board. An appeal on 23 December was dismissed on the day.
Gill said: "There was no reasonable explanation as to why the decision was taken. The company has the prerogative to change or restructure, but I feel I’ve been treated very badly."
David Pepper, who was previously managing director of Time Out Communications, the online and broadcast part of the group, was made overall managing director earlier this year.
Nicola Coulter, group general manager at Time Out, said the sacking was "a discipline matter", dealt with through a disciplinary procedure.
She added: "All I can say at the moment is that Time Out intends to vigorously defend the proceedings."
