Ex-Loaded editor Keith Kendrick to edit Bauer cooking title

By Dominic Ponsford

Former Loaded and Chat editor Keith Kendrick is the launch editor of a new Bauer monthly magazine focusing on cooking at home.

Eat In launches at the end of this month and aims to cash in on what it calls “the UK’s increasing obsession with home cooking”.

It is the first major launch from Bauer since women’s news weekly In The Know, also edited by Kendrick, which folded after eight months in May 2007 after failing to hit sales targets despite a claimed £10m investment in marketing.

Bauer managing director David Goodchild said of the company’s latest launch: “Some may say that launching a new magazine in the current economic climate is an ambitious venture.

“But we’ve seen the positive impact on magazine sales as the nation continues to be inspired by top chefs and TV personalities who have helped reignite the nation’s love affair with cooking at home.

“Eat In will capture this enthusiasm by celebrating the joy of creating simple, delicious dishes using quality, affordable and easily accessible ingredients.”

Bauer says that Eat In will be “packed with practical tips, useful techniques all packaged in a fun and friendly format”.
