Sport magazine, the country’s highest circulation title in the sector, has struck a deal to be distributed alongside the London Evening Standard.
The agreement will see the magazine handed out at central London train and underground stations every Thursday evening from today.
Sport, which boasts a weekly print circulation of more than 300,000, will continue to be distributed separately in its previous Friday morning slot.
Sport publisher Simon Caney said: The free magazine and newspaper market continues to grow, particularly in London, and this is a great opportunity for us to partner with one of the biggest names in the business. Commuters on a Thursday evening will be able to enjoy two of London’s best publications and this is a great way for us to introduce our award winning magazine to new readers.”
Tim Freeman, head of distribution for the Evening Standard, added: “This is a very exciting project for us as we are keen to collaborate with other significant media owners when the opportunity presents itself. Sport is a high quality, well respected title and is a good fit with our overall distribution operation. I am looking forward to a long and successful relationship between our two organisations.”
