Esquire names Jeremy Paxman as 2008 style icon

Jeremy Paxman has been named one of the most stylish men of 2008 in an annual list compiled by Esquire magazine.

The BBC Newsnight presenter is joined by US presidential candidate Barack Obama the Marks and Spencer boss Stuart Rose on this year’s best-dressed list.

Esquire fashion director Catherine Hayward said: “Jeremy Paxman more than holds his own against the Hollywood power set.

“He obviously takes confidence from his suits and the way he dresses reinforces his authority in interview situations.”
